![]() ![]() ![]() Overall, a great antenna you won't be disappointed. I will get my HAM buddy to put it on an antenna analyzer and SWR meter and see what kind of resonance & SWR numbers we are getting. I think I'll probably switch to this antenna for all of my Motorola radios. I was able to "hit" a local repeater that I normally have problems with (scratchiness, hash etc.) however, it not only broke the squelch but the other station receiving it advised that it was full quiet no noise at all. I noticed an improved receive signal the moment I put it on. Compared to my work radios (Motorola XTS 5000 800Mhz UHF) it is about 1/2 an inch shorter than the XTS 5000 antennas. ![]() I havent taken a ruler to it yet but I believe it is about 6 inches possibly slightly longer. I am looking in the personality options, but I am not seeing the squelch fine tuning parameter that I see in my XTS3000s. On the marine channel 16 frequency set to CSQ, after receiving a transmission, the squelch will give 3-4 little pops or static 'chunks'. Very well built antenna and it is longer than the typical heliflex antennas for the 403-470 UHF band. I am attempting to adjust the squelch on a VHF Astro Spectra radio, but having no luck. The antenna can be used for any MT/MTS1000,2000, XTS 2500,3000,5000 and Astro Saber radios. ![]()
